The agency began over 35 years ago (1971) when Salem County's migrant farm workers banded together and organized as one voice the "Puerto Rican Action Committee" (PRAC). Protected by the power of unity they developed connections among all transient Hispanic immigrants working in seasonal employment on Southern New Jersey farms.

Then and now, PRAC is the only non-profit Hispanic agency in both Salem and Cape May County (1993) that continues to provide essential social services, educational and cultural programs to an evergrowing Hispanic and non-Hispanic population.

PRAC provides translation & transportation services to the under served and emergency care for those confronted with issues of:

PRACs local community centers serve as cultural hubs for the South's otherwise disenfranchised working poor. As the migrant population evolves from seasonal to permanent, PRACs cultural activities help sustain their ties to their heritage indoctrinating their children with an appreciation of those values.
